"Students’Evaluation of Teaching" originated in the United States of America. In the ninteen eighties it was rised in China. So far most universities have established the "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" system. It’s an important part of teaching evaluation in universities, and it’s also an effective means to improve teaching. From mordern teaching concepts, the main purpose of "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" is to help teachers to find advantages and disadvantages in teaching, and then help them to improve the quality of teaching."Students’ Evaluation of Teaching", as mean of ensuring teaching quality, is irreplaceable. Three subjects, teaching administrators, teachers and students play different roles in "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching". If they make a rational role definition, the work will be smooth. But if their roles have deviation,"Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" will be only a form, which will cause the waste of resources. Therefore, to study role definition in "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" will help subjects keep normative behavior, and perfect "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" system.Role definition in "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" is a key point, the paper analyses role definition errors of different subjects, caused by understanding differences and system’s defect, which influence the function seriously. From researching, the paper analyse the factors which caused role definition deviation, and then put forward the suggestions for rational role definition. It is divided into six chapters. Chapter One expounds the background, the significance and the methods. Chapter Two analyze role definition in "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" according to related theories, explains teaching administrators, teachers and students’ ideal state in "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" and their path of interaction. Chapter Three analyze the deviation and performance in "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" from questionnaire investigation. Including role consciousness is not strong or wrong, and the effect is poor. Chapter Four analyze the survey data, find out the influence factors of role definition deviation. Chapter Five put forwards that administrators should take perfecting "Students’ Evaluation of Teaching" system as a turning point, to be "guider","orgnizer" and "service provider". Teachers should hold the balance mind to be evaluated actively and become "direct beneficiaries". Students should deepen understanding, to be "qualified evaluator" and "indirect beneficiaries". Chapter Six summaries the research, and expresses the deficiencies of this study and the prospect in future.
