Researching lived experience is a kind of research method in pedagogy proposed by MaxVan Manen, which is based on the phenomenology, hermeneutics, semiotics, as well astraditional educational research methods. Max van Manen has unique views and perspectiveson pedagogy,who also think that researching lived experience could approach to theinterpretation of pedagogy. Of course, as a research method in the perspective of thehumanities, researching lived experience has its own value and limitations.This paper hopesto study on the vertical comb of the researching lived experience, providing on furtheradvancing of teacher education practice.This paper is divided into four sections. The first part,we introduce the study oneducation and researching lived experience by Max Van Manen. This part we descript Maxvan Manen’s pedagogy from two sides. First of all, the connotation and basic content areintroduced. Second, the study on interpretation of researching lived experience.Through thispart of the introduction, the content, methods and theory will be understood.The second part,we introduce the methodology and structures on researching lived experience, and furtherexplore the philosophical foundation of researching lived experience.The third part, theexample of researching lived experience. Using punishment of pupils into researching livedexperience.The forth part, the value and limitations of the researching livedexperience.Through this part of the explanation,we hope to understanding the researchmethodologies, better to using this method into practice, and can also make up the limitationsby the other researching methods.
