Authentic assessment, which begins to rise after "standard-based" reform in America, combines quantitative assessment with qualitative assessment and mainly evaluates students’some advanced qualities of thinking and skills which appears in students’solving problems in real environment. So far, Authentic assessment has occupied a certain position in the ultimate assessment, especially in international large-scale test projects. What’s more, it also has been widely used in the formative assessment. However, international research in this area has been quite rich, but the domestic research in authentic assessment of the skills of scientific inquiry looks fairly empty. Scenes and characters of scientific inquiry determines the superiority in using authentic assessment. Right now, the assessment of scientific inquiry skills in primary school has not received due attention, which in primary and secondary school is still test-oriented to examine students’off-the-shelf scientific knowledge, leading to teachers lecturing about off-the-shelf knowledge and having no scientific inquiry which is the core of science course in their class. There is no clear definition of scientific inquiry skills, so teachers can not evaluate how the students’inquiry skills are.To sum, this research aims at solving the problem of how authentic assessment can be used in the evaluation of scientific inquiry skills to promote students’scientific inquiry skills.This problem is divided into three sub-problems, namely:What is the rationale about authentic assessment used for scientific inquiry skills evaluation? How is authentic assessment used in the evaluation of scientific inquiry skills? How effect of the procedure in practice?Chapter I solve the first problem. Through analyzing of the status quo about scientific inquiry skills evaluation and the base knowledge of authentic assessment, demonstrate the rationality and progressiveness of authentic assessment in the evaluation of scientific inquiry skills.The conclusion is that authentic assessment matchs the evaluation of scientific inquiry skills, compared to traditional evaluation, it is superior. Chapters Ⅱ and Ⅲ solve the second problem. Authentic assessment application procedures is closely related with "scientific inquiry skills", therefore, Chapter Ⅱ primarily through literature research, using " history "and" logic "methods, to clarify" what scientific inquiry skills is", then built a convenient and practical authentic assessment framework on scientific inquiry skills. And then to discuss the specific application procedure, Chapter Ⅲ gives four basic steps On the basis of previous research, which is:Determine the evaluation objectives, design authentic tasks, make scoring rubrics, evaluation and feedback. Then discussing the specific operating strategies for each step one by one.Chapter IV of the paper to solve the third problem, verify the validity of the construction program in practice. My associate and I launched a cooperative research with experimental subjects. The research data show that:compared with the traditional evaluation, authentic assessment used in the evaluation of scientific inquiry skills has strong advantages, which can promote students’scientific inquiry skills. Specific performance:authentic assessment pointed out the direction for the students’ scientific inquiry; the use of authentic assessment allows teachers to grasp the progress of students to carry out effective guidance; promoting team cooperation and communication skills; provide evidence for the further improvement of the student.
