Educational reform most directly, most extensive and most apt to cause social concern educating and appraising. Under the background of present educational reform, the teacher can't only pay close attention to the situations of mastering of knowledge and technical ability like the thing that originally, but also pay attention to student's latent energy and quality in many aspects, especially the cultivation and assessment of initiative spirit and practice ability. This puts forward new challenge on assessing practice, and must change the situation that traditional assessment relies on standardized test excessively, then further develop and use the more effective and scientific conception way of assessment. The sterling worth of education do not merely lie in students'behavior in school, but lie in students'behavior out of school, even more lie in students'ability of solving authentic problem in real life. So, we must design the test or question of assessment with authenticity and scene, so that foster students'adaptive capacity and creativity to real life. This has already become an important characteristic of the current assessment reform. The authentic assessment considers student must use oneself knowledge and technical ability to solve authentic task in life or similar to realistic situation, in order to train, show and prove student's own knowledge, creative abilities and tactics in the course of solving problem. It is developing on the criticism and introspection of standardized test, have not merely reflected the feature of authenticity and scene of the modern study theory, and can put forward the new action to the system of the current education assessment in our country against the deficiency and limitation with the perspective and reality. With the studying orientation of survey and using, this research has adopted the approach of documents to make a large amount of research to authentic assessment and its application. This research is described the followings: First of all, in terms of the background of reality and theory, the research have analyzed the origin of the authentic assessment; Secondly, on the basis of analyzing the intension and advantage of the authentic assessment, the research have discussed the design criterions and tool types of the authentic assessment, analyzed two kinds of concrete ways of the authentic assessment, just that portfolio assessment and performance assessment, and illustrated the ways of grading; Moreover, the research have tentatively construct the application process of the authentic assessment in teaching , and has analyzed the development and establishment of three major key elements of the process, just that assessment criterion, appraising of the task and gauge; Finally, the research explained the development of the authentic assessment in course and teaching, proved that it is a respose to the modern view of assessment, and the importance to the development of the course and reform showed: The authentic assessment help develop students' entity; It will become possible that the authentic assessment will make course optimize; The authentic assessment has improved the teacher's role. The place of innovation of this research mainly reflects in the followings: First, compared with domestic similar research, this research lays particular emphasis on the application of authentic assessment, specifically reflected on: Chapter two analyzed the tools and ways of assessment and grade of authentic assessment and Chapter three explained the application of authentic assessment in teaching, make this research not merely stay at theory research, but also deep into practice and operation. Second, assessment criterion, task and gauge are basic key elements of authentic assessment, which were not set up by authentic assessment and have been already used to in the traditional assessment. Because they can achieve the goal of authentic assessment effectively, this research combines them with authentic assessment and builds the application mode of authentic assessment. It is an innovative point of the research that is a field less likely to involve the same study at home. Third, how let authentic assessment incorporate the system of our students'assessment really, meeting the demands of development of course and teaching, is an important problem with realistic significance. For this reason, this research have described the development of authentic assessment in course and teaching from two respects that authentic assessment is a respond to the view of modern assessment and its significance in the development of course and teaching.
