In his view,the former meant glory while the latter meant disgrace.According to the recent surveys of the college students’concepts of honor and disgrace,it is easy for us to find that the values of the contemporary college students are generally healthy and positive.However, there are also some college students who mix up glory and disgrace,especially which should come first,profit or justice.The contemporary college students should have a better knowledge of the concept of honor and disgrace because" The people who can’t differ right from wrong will fail to get on well with the others and their failure in telling the differences between glory and disgrace will disqualify their growth and lives."College students are lack of honesty,correct values, clear politics belief and ideal.Why do they have such a wrong consciousness?The changing of society and economy is the fundamental cause of it and their failing to require themselves strictly and the wrong education given to the college students are also the reasons.The lackage of concept of honor and disgrace requires the college students to set up correct concept of honor and disgrace, because a wrong concept of honor and disgrace will be harmful for them.College students should have correct values because they are the basic of moral values and the power of actions.Concept of honor and disgrace is for the whole nation,and it is a basical moral value and an important part of Chinese traditional culture."eight honors and eight disgraces" is the organic combination of the traditional Chinese virtues and socialist spirit of the times,and also the important part of the concepts of People-oriented and Sustainable Development.
