High Grade School Intervention Study Of Emotion Regulation Strategies

There are two parts of the study. In the first part of study,227students were investigated, which are grade10, using the Adolescents academic emotions Questionnaire developed, in order to known the situation of their academic emotion and the use of their emotional regulation strategies. In the other part of study, two non-differential classes from grade10were selected, one class (46students) was made to be the experimental group, and another one (49students) to be the control group. The experimental group accepted the intervention experiment for emotion regulation for eight weeks, in order to improve student’s emotion regulation strategies, in turn, make their emotional feeling better.Through investigating, this part gets the following conclusions:(1) Positive academic emotion is the main emotion of the grade10, and in which hope and enjoyment are the most strengthening.(2) They have obviously gender differences in academic emotion, and girls are obviously higher than boys in negative emotions.(3) They have obviously gender differences in emotional regulation strategy, and girls are obviously lower than boys in expression suppression.(4) There is closely relationship between academic emotion and emotional regulation strategy. And there is the highest positive correlation between cognitive reappraisal and positive-low arousal academic emotions, but the highest negative correlation between cognitive reappraisal and negative-low arousal academic emotionsThrough the intervention experiment, this part gets the following conclusions:(1)Academic emotion:After the experiment, the experiment group is obviously higher in the relief, content and positive-low arousal academic emotions, but lower in the boredom than control group.(2)Emotional regulation strategies:After the experiment, the experiment group is obviously higher in the scores of strategy of cognitive reappraisal.From this study, we conclude:Emotion regulation strategy training can effectively improve student’s ability of using emotion regulation strategy.Emotion regulation strategy training can effectively improve student’s emotional experience.
