Academic burnout means that students hope to get away from study because they get low sense of achievement in study and are tired of it. This is a common problem among students and is also the most concerned problem by teachers and parents.Academic burnout not only affect students’ academic performance, but also their mental health. So academic burnout receive lots of attention from domestic and international scholars.Purpose:Study the relationship between academic emotions and academic burnout among high school students and the mediating effect of negative mood regulation expectancies.Methods:This paper, surveying the students of two high schools in Anyang City, studies the relationships among negative mood regulation expectancies, academic emotions and academic burnout.This paper uses descriptive statistics to describe the status quo of high school students’ academic burnout, adopts related analysis to study the relationships among the three and uses linear-regression analysis and mediating effect to test and discuss the relationships among the three.Conclusion:First, high school students have academic burnout, but not so serious. There is no difference in gender and regions, but there are differences in grades, disciplines,whether or not the only child of the family and types of school considering academic burnout.Second, positive academic emotions and academic burnout have significant negative correlation, while negative academic emotions have significant positive correlation with academic burnout.Third, negative mood regulation expectancies have some mediating effect on negative academic emotions and academic burnout.
