With the rapid development of Chinese vocational education, the research achievements of vocational education increase rapidly. The Accurate reveals of the nearly ten years’research on vocational education are the premise of the reflect on vocational education, and the foundation of continues to academic research. With the unique advantages, journal is an important academic medium for vocational education. Using the bibliometric method of library and Information science to the study of vocational education can more accurately reveal the developmental trend, developmental characteristics and existing problems of vocational education.This study uses the papers published between2001-2010as the object. They published in six vocational education journals, such as "Education and Vocation","Chinese Vocational and Technical Education"," Vocational Education Research","Vocational and Technical Education","Communication of Vocational Education" and "Vocational&Technical Education Forum". This study reveals the Chinese vocational education by the three aspects of the horizontal dimensions, the research areas dimensions and the research groups dimensions. This study uses bibliometric analysis on the posting amount, the cited frequency, the annual change of the thesis on the distribution, and the composition of the core authors and research institutions.The conclusion is:nearly a decade of vocational education research has grown rapidly, the quality of research needs to be improved, the peak period of the development of vocational education is2005-2007; there is a wide range of topics of the vocational education research.And the hot topic continues to heat up; The research continuing focuses on:the construction and theoretical study of the vocational education disciplines, the vocational education teachers’ construction, the training mode of vocational education, the vocational education teaching reform and the study of vocational education students,etc. Vocational education in China has formed the group of the core authors. Most of them have highly educational background and high titles, but older. There is a unbalanced geographical distribution in the major research institutions. The cooperation between the authors is not high.
