With the development of mass media, especially the popularity of TV, thesocialization of its influence is also growing. Analysis of the literature shows, in ourcountry, on the television on children’s social impact are studied more and more, especiallytelevision violence on children’s aggressive behavior effect. However, on child sex rolesocialization research is not much; cartoon for children’s sex role socialization influenceresearch is seldom involved.This study selected the177children as research subjects on Maoming city. Theauthor carried out an experiment and used cartoons as experimental material. And thestudy explored the impact of animation on children’s gender role socialization.The experimental results found, animation has affected the development of childrensex role socialization. Following Conclusion in the experiment:1. Animation has different level of influences between genders on the toy styles. Theanimation on boy has been on the toy’s gender information effect, but the impact is notvery significant. But animation for girls has been on the toy’s gender information effect.2. Animation has no clear impact on children’s preference of game roles. Data fromthe point of view of men and women’s choice is changing, but will look from whole, thiskind of change is not as animation for children to choose the game characters haveinfluence on. Therefore, judge for the animation for children to choose the game role is notvery obvious effect.3. Animation has different level of influences between genders on career choice.From the test results, boys and girls choose changes somewhat, but overall, the animationhas little effect on the boy, because the boy after the test data in the chi-square test resultsshow that before the experiment and after the experiment, the boy in this topic has nosignificant difference. While the girls just on the contrary, the chi-square test results showed a significant difference, show girls on occupation selection has changedsignificantly, thus, animation for girls choose occupation has effect.4. Animation is conductive to change sex-role stereotyped image. The chi-square testresults are shown in the" gender stereotype ", children the difference is very significant.Judge, gender stereotype by animation characters influence.
