An Applied Research Of Attacking Skills And Tactics Employed By Chinese Male Basketball Players Under The New Rules

With the promulgating and implementing of the new rules in2010, modernbasketball has entered a new stage of development. If the background situation andmental intent of this modification can be well grasped, it would play an extremelyimportant role in the basketball development of our country. The subject of theresearch is the Chinese men’s basketball team attack characteristics of26thFIBA AsiaChampionship. In order to investigate the effect that the implementation of new ruleshas played in Chinese men’s basketball team attack, several methods have been used,such as literature, video observation, expert interview, mathematical statistics, andcomparative analysis. After the implementation of new rules, the difference of threepoint shooting area and the data of limited area attack in26thFIBA AsiaChampionship and27thFIBA Asia Championship would be compared, the conclusionwould be drawn as following:1. The number and contribution rate of three points shooting are unchanged afterthe extension of three point shooting area. But the personal action of three point shotswas significantly reduced, most of the shots are using the form of breakthroughs,shooting after the cooperation between inside and outside players. The opportunitiesof vacancy three point shooting are increased but the shooting rate is lower, whichmade the defense of the outside is not enough, the space can’t be extended and theattack of inside is difficult.2. After the extension of three point shooting area, the breaks through of theplayer are increased significantly and the number of holding breakthrough of insideplayers is better than the outside players.3. With the changes of three point shooting and limited area, there are moreopportunities for the flexible inside players to obtain rebounds, the score wasincreased and the number of resisting attack was reduced, which are adapt to the spiritof the new rules.4. From the aspect of tactical, although Chinese basketball tactics has increased,the richness of tactical remained to strengthen.5.
