Research On The Analysis Of Chinese Men’s Basketball’s Scoring Ability In The27th Asian Basketball Championship

The Chinese basketball team performed poorly in the27thAsian Basketball Championship, with a total of9matches and an average score of79.55,7.22less than the champion team Iran. Lacking the ability towards high scores, we not only missed the championship, but are also dropped out of the semi-finals, with an unexpected ranking of No.5. Today we encounter many problems on the way to powerful leader of Asian basketball. To achieve this goal, research on scorning ability and performance of the Chinese basketball team in the27th Asian Basketball Championship is necessary.In this paper, we aim to discuss scorning ability of the9matches that the Chinese basketball team participated in the27th Asian Basketball Championship, from perspectives of the whole team, as well as of different position and area. We would also discuss shooting manner of the game. The main results and contributions of this paper are as follows:1. The Chinese team fell behind from the champion Iran in terms of PPG, but not that significant. Scorning on3-point shot and free throw of the Chinese team were obviously inferior to other teams. They also performed badly on reducing losing point per game. Furthermore, the distribution of scores for each player is not balanced. The scorning relies heavily on inside players, while the outside players performed poorly.2. On evaluating the scorning ability for each position, we find that YIJIANLIAN achieved most of the points for the forward. The center performed fairly well, but WANGZHELIN’s free throw percentage was low. The guard didn’t take offensive strategy during the game. Meanwhile, the guard lacked the ability to penetrate to the inside, and field goal percentage outside is low.3. Regarding shooting area of the Chinese team, it was concentrated in the constraint area of low post and the outside area of three-point line. They rarely shoot outside the two-point line. Shooting area of the forward is narrow, and mostly centered at low post. There exists few perimeter shot. The center concentrated on low post area, with comparably high percentage. The shooting area for the guard is also narrow. They often focused outside the three-point line with low percentage, and the shooting ability on perimeter shot needs to be improved.4. Shooting manner of the Chinese team mainly based on strategies like shooting directly, driving layup, and pull-up jumper. The most frequently used strategy was direct shooting, but with low percentage. Moreover, driving layup and pull-up jumper strategies were also of low percentage, and the performance was not as stable.
