What contents should be included in teaching writing? How to teach pupils to write in Chinese? And how can we teach them in this field more efficiently? These problems have troubled Chinese teachers for a long time. According to The New Curriculum Standard, as well as analyzing the Final Exam of Chinese (Grade7and8), consulting and the experienced examiners for High School Entrance Exam, and combining my own experience as a Chinese teacher and also an examiner, I conclude some key problems that the junior middle school students of the Yi nationality meet in their study. To handle these problems practically and efficiently, and to realize the teaching aims as The Curriculum Standard in Compulsory Education (Chinese) stipulates, I put forward a set of teaching sequences-establish the course in the textbook, imitate and refer the good writing pieces, weed through the old to bring forth the new as the result of imitation and reference, accumulate the writing skills step by step, and finally acquire the ability of comprehensive application. I am expecting these sequences are easy to operate, and can be adopted by other Chinese teachers into their writing classes, and most importantly, can improve students’writing skills.
