The essence of contemporary international competition is comprehensive national strength contest based on economic and technological strength. In the final analysis, it is the talent competition. To remain invincible in the competition, it is necessary to enhance the strength of the overall national education to train a large number of highly qualified personnel. The organic combination of school education, family education and social education is the core issue and the inherent requirements of the education. Since the contact of school education and family education is most closely associated, the full cooperation of them will provide solid foundation and basis for the education system formed of the three combinations of school, family and society. China’s practice and research of home-school cooperation go with a long history, but it develops slowly and lags a lot behind many developed countries on the whole.This paper employs theoretical analysis and investigation method. Shangluo city in Shaanxi province was chosen for an example. The existing conditions were investigated and problems were found out. Then improvement strategies and recommendations were put forward based on reason analyses.The main research work is deployed in four parts in addition to the concluding remark.The first chapter:Introduction. The necessity of home-school cooperation was analyzed from the perspective of national development’s requirement and the objective law of education. Then the successful experience of foreign home-school cooperation was introduced, followed by China’s practice and research history review on home-school cooperation. Finally, the paper’s research purposes, contents and methods were elaborated.Chapter Ⅱ:Theory of the home-school cooperation. First, the concept of home-school cooperation was discussed to clarify its meaning. Then the theoretical basis were explored from different angles, including the system theory, collaborative science, ecology, management and the common responsibility viewpoints. At last, the importance of home-school cooperation was discussed, which gave ideal guidance and normative suggestion for the practice on the purposes, content, method and system of education. Chapter Ⅲ:Survey and analysis of home-school cooperation in Shangluo city. The questionnaire design and investigation implementation was introduced at first. Then the results were analyzed from multiple dimensions, including the awareness of teachers, parents and students on home-school, the form, content, obstacles of home-school co-operation, as well as the relevant circumstances of school education and family education.Chapter Ⅳ:The promoting strategy research of home-school cooperation. The multi-level and multi-angle strategies were proposed based on the existing problems in Shangluo city and the relevant theoretical research. They can be described as establishing the concept of cooperation, improving the educational environment, improving the safeguard mechanism and expediting communication channels.This paper is my preliminary exploration and thinking on home-school cooperation based on relevant study at home and abroad and questionnaire in Shangluo area. I hope this paper can provide a reference for effective promotion of home-school cooperation pratice.
