The dissertation is the concrete reflection of how to raise the postgraduate in quality and how to complete the process in various links. It refers the tendency of some discipline research simultaneously. In recent eleven years, growing enrolment of masters with the continuous development of mathematics education research which current situation is reflected by thesis to a certain degree in our country. The topic election of thesis is a key of thesis. There is theoretical and practical significance in the research of master’s thesis topic selections.The research subject of this article is the outstanding postgraduate thesis collected by CNKI during2000-2011. Methods of literature review, content analysis, mathematical statistics and other methods are mainly adopted to study and discuss problems.This research planed to study the problem:What are the characteristic and influencing factors of topic selections by masters’thesis of mathematics education? This problem is decomposed into four sub-problems:What’s the overall situation of topic selections by masters’thesis of mathematics education? What’s the direction and focus of topic selections by masters’thesis of mathematics education? What are the influencing factors of topic selections by masters’thesis of mathematics education? Which problem exist in topic selections by masters’thesis of mathematics education?Regarding problems mentioned, this paper makes a conclusion:from2000to2005,the total number of masters’thesis in mathematics education basically showed increasing trend,after that the trend of number became gradually smooth; masters’ thesis of mathematics education pay close attention to the middle school area; comprehensive research become the main trend of research methods. The Advantage of research is the study of mathematics teaching and mathematics learning, and the disadvantage research is the study of history of mathematical education and evaluation of mathematical education. The factors of influencing masters’thesis of mathematics education are quality of individual graduates, mentors and the management system of college degree thesis quality and so on. The topic selections of masters’thesis of mathematics education have main problems:the use of research methods pay less attention to academic forms; pay attention to specific areas, but not enough innovation; and pay attention to the feasibility of the subject, but academic fear of the hard ship.Based on the answer of the above problems, this research puts forward the following suggestions for perfecting the topic selections:strengthening the education of academic writing specifications; setting up scientific courses, developing the innovation abilities of masters; strengthening the guidance during the process of masters’thesis from instructors; sounding the management system of masters’thesis in colleges and universities; establishing and sounding database to promote inter-school exchanges.
