Contemporary University Students’ Filial Piety Education Research

The filial piety is the core concept in China’s traditional ethics, which is China’sfamily culture core. In the nineteenth century ago, traditional filial piety is in aperiod of great prosperity, after more than a century, with the rapid economicdevelopment of society, the filial piety happens to the subtle change in thecontemporary university students, emerges the problems to different extent, mostcollege students may have forgotten what is “filial piety”. In the news media,network, college students do not filial piety parents event frequently, all this causedthe attention of people from all walks. In order to improve the contemporaryuniversity students’ moral quality, form good ethics and maintain social stability, wemust inherit and develop the traditional filial piety of elite, do “take the essence anddiscard the dregs”.The main content of the first chapter of this essay is the general theory of filialpiety education. The first chapter mainly discusses the concept of the filial piety andthe education of filial piety, the historical evolution of the filial piety and filial pietyand filial piety education relationship, and filial piety education’s importance. In thehistorical evolution of the filial piety, it talks about the traditional filial piety "scum"removal and "essence" of the inheritance and development, the formation of newmodern filial piety. The second chapter of this essay analyzes today’s collegestudents’ filial piety problems and reasons, the essay uses questionnaire andinterview to investigate today’s college students’ the filial piety and its practiceexperimentally.
