Ever since1980s, outdoor tourism has gradually burgeoned in China. Into the new century, outdoor tourism has witnessed an increasing booming development and become a new traveling mode, which gets rid of the constraints of traditional traveling and is labeled as individuality liberation, freedom advocating, outdoor experiencing, and ecology-environmental, etc. Therefore, the outdoor tour has gradually grown prevalent among society and been chased by the youth and white-collar class. The uplift of outdoor tour enriches the modern traveling modes, propels the transition of traveling types, and drives the formation of new tourism format.The paper first carried out an extensive literature reviews, and then analyzed the tourist demand characteristics and operation mode extensively through multiple approaches,including Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory, motivation theory, experience of economic theory, as well as a combination of online investigation, questionnaire, interview, and case study, etc. The research performed a case study in the context of De-Hang International Mountain Outdoor Tourism Festival and proposed a refined-online convened, offline practice, government cooperation, multi-stakeholder involvement, effective feedback-based outdoor tour mode, which contributes to the sustainable development of outdoor tourism.The research consists of four components. The first one is the basic research to reveal the background and significance, review the relevant researches, determine the research effort, organize the research structure and identify the corresponding conceptions, which can be found in chapter Ⅰ and Ⅱ. The second one investigates the tourist demand through statistical analysis of questionnaire results.The third one splits and compares the outdoor tour operation modes, and makes recommendations to outdoor tour operation modes through the case study of the De-Hang International Mountain Outdoor Tourism Festival.The last one is the summary of research conclusions and future research interests.In this research, from the perspective of activity organizer, the author proposes the optimization measures and new operation mode to outdoor tour operation modes and provides new pathway and angle for the relevant touring sales and product innovations so as to create harmony outdoor tourism and produce more tour profits.
