Woodball Under Cultural Vision

Culture, as a phenomenon of social development, is the unique spiritually cultural life of human beings and a vital condition of social development. At current situation, people’s demand for material and spiritual life has constantly improved with the economic development. Sports leisure, which is based on economy and pursues higher spiritual state and cultural life style, has become a common social cultural appearance, which means that people’s demand for sports culture has been developing towards the multiple, ecological and harmonious direction.The Woodball, which was born in Taiwan Province in1990s, is a kind of sport invented by Chinese as a new leisure sports combined with competition, leisure and entertainment. This thesis analyzes the woodball from three levels:the concept, institutions and material level, and points out that either the project feature or function character shows the woodball is in line with the social multiplication and harmonious development, which also meets the modern sports value orientation. Meanwhile, the author also exlores the problems existing in the process of woodball’s development and the channels of further promot ing woodball in the mainland of China. The research extends the cultural connotation of woodball sport, which meets more demands of modern people for sports culture and promotes the sustainable development of woodball.
