For a long time, under the teaching concept of emphasizing knowledge but slighting abilities, the senior high school algebra teaching in our country use injection" teaching model. Teachers play a major role in the classroom. Teachers instill pre-prepared knowledge to students and students are only the receiving vessel of knowledge. Undoubtedly, this model of teachers have serious shortcoming, which on the one hand ignores the students" initiative, and it is not conducive to students’active thinking, on the other of this persists, it will affect our personnel training Therefore, to adapt the development of the society, it’s necessary to seek a new teaching model.Combined with the contents and characteristics of China’s senior high school algebra, for all principles.According to the above features and combined with the characteristics of mathematics, algebra research teaching is defined as an important part in the research study courses, in which students under the guidance of the algebra teachers start from algebra problems with mathematical background and nearly contact with realism, use similar mathematical research methods to acquire and use knowledge through independent research and cooperative learning. Meanwhile, in the course of the study, students experience the formation and development of algebra knowledge and understanding the research background and realistic significance of the knowledge. They discovered the beauty of mathematics and experiential the fun of learning mathematics. Finally, through developing the ability of algebraic thinking, it will improve student’s sense of innovation and practical ability. The author also summarizes four major characteristics of the algebra research study:problem solving, autonomy, research, and openness. This paper study the theoretical basis and practical basis for teaching and summarize the value of the research teaching:(1) help students make connections between school and the society and cultivate students’sense of social responsibility.(2) help stimulate students’interest in learning and develop their self-learning ability.(3) help develop students" awareness of research and the ability of the algebra thinking.(4) help coordinate the relationship between students and teachers and break the teacher-centered situation.(5)help strengthen the cooperative relationship and cooperation consciousness among students. The paper summarizes the concrete steps of the research teaching:the problem-research-re-creation-Applications-regression. The fifth chapter combined with the content of senior high school algebra-the binomial theorem learning, use research teaching method and gradually carry out in accordance with the five steps. Finally, the author makes conclusions and on the entire research teaching from the view of students, teachers, and education.
