Credit, as a traditional Chinese virtue, is one of the basic norms of human and the cornerstone of moral construction. However, with the rapid development and improvement of the socialist market economy, more and more false information, counterfeiting and frauds, financial frauds, commercial frauds, Chief deceptions and academic dishonesty emerge in our society. These acts of dishonesty have seriously damaged the social climate and affected the building of a harmonious society. In the tide of market economy, colleges and universities are no longer pure lands. The lack of credibility in the society gradually affects the university campus, which has caused widespread concern in our country. College students, with high level of knowledge, create and spread civilization at the forefront of society, so they are undoubtedly the mainstay in the construction of socialist culture and spiritual civilization. Based on the investigation of college students’credit and the accurate grasp of its real situation, this thesis aims at putting forward measures to further improve college students’credit, which not only riches the content of College Ethical Education, but also provides in turn new perspective for the study of it. This thesis is divided into four parts:Part Ⅰ is the introduction part. Beginning with the purpose and significance of the study, this part advances the reflections and interest in the study of college students’ credit, followed by a literature review of the studies on college students’ credit both domestic and abroad. The research contents and the research methods used.Part Ⅱ:By investigating the evolution of credit and exploring the connotation of it both in the past and at present, the author of this thesis derives the connotation of college students’credit at a theoretical level, and elaborates in detail the important role credit plays in the growth of college students.Part Ⅲ includes a survey and analysis of students’credit. In this part, the author consults relevant documents, designs college students’credit questionnaires, carries out a survey on college students’credit (the survey data are all collected in colleges and universities in Wuhu), grasps accurately the current status of college students’credit, finds out the important problems to be solved and analyzes the status of college students’credit by means of statistical software SPSS13.0.Part Ⅳ:On the basis of a detailed analysis of college students’credit, the author draws conclusion and proposes counter-measures and suggestions to further improve college students’credit.Investigation and analysis show that the majority of college students have high level of credit in economic integrity, consumer integrity, employment integrity, life integrity, academic integrity, network integrity, communication integrity, moral integrity, and so on. The main stream of moral credit is good, positive and healthy among college students. Only a small number of them are lack of a certain degree of credit. However, from the studies in the past we can see that scholars and experts were more critical and worried instead of being positive and optimistic to college students’credit. It’s unfair for college students to be totally negated. Therefore, we should have a proper understanding of the current status of college students’credit and believe that the credit status is good among most of the students. So we should inherit the good traditions in integrity education. As to the lack of credit among the small number of college students, we should take further measures to strengthen integrity education on them.
