Study On The Present Situation Of Social Support Network Of The New Generation Peasant Workers And The Social Work Intervention Strategies

The new generation peasant workers are gradually becoming the mainstream of the peasant workers and industrial workers and show the differences from the first generation of peasant workers with features and pursuit. But the city’s inherent institutional barriers and artificial barriers may make it harder for them to blend in the urban mainstream society successfully. So woving a complete social support network and specifying the support and resources they could gain is a mission which the era have entrusted to us.In the framework of social network theory, this article mainly use the method of case interview, questionnaires and scales to collect statistical data from the different industries of new generation peasant workers. The article is divided into six parts:The first part is introduction part. It introduces the research topic, source, background, purpose and research meaning. The article points out that the study of social support network has both theoretical significance and practical significance.The second part mainly embarks from the review of scholars both at home and abroad related the research. And in view of new generation peasant workers, the article defines the research objects and group characteristics and points out the concept and theoretical basis of social support network. At the same time, in the review of domestic social perspectives on peasant workers’social support network of research results, the article points out that previous scholars focus on the analysis of peasant workers to obtain social support network in the occupational mobility. They regards the social support network as the application of social work service model;The third part briefly introduce the research ideas and research methods. This article mainly use the method of case interview, questionnaires and scales to collect statistical data.The fourth part is the emphasis of this article. It focuses on the description about the present situation of social support network of new generation peasant workers. Studies have found that structure characteristics of new generation peasant workers are small network size, big network density, strong homogeneity and weak heterogeneity; And the network performs the function of employment, financial, emotional and communicational support at the same time. However most peasant workers don’t know how to use these functions well.The fifth part summarizes the above analysis, and points out that there are significant questions of narrow network, single function, low exploitation and biased function orientation in the social support networks.So in the sixth part the author suggests to speed up the reform of the regime, cultivate the trust of the social support network, transform the individual thinking, purify the living environment and other measures. At last, the author emphatically introduce into professional social work intervention and expect to having benefits on solving actual problems of the new generation peasant workers.
