From Involution To Extension: Social Work Intervention In The Construction Of Social Support Network For Female Domestic Workers

Female domestic workers are a special social group in the social transformation of our country.They are not only shaped by the social structure,but also are changing the appearance of the social structure.It is estimated that there are currently about 35 million domestic workers in China with obvious characteristics of feminization and mobility.As the marginal labor group at the bottom of the society,they face multiple difficulties in social participation,social interaction,and urban affiliation.The social support network aims to provide supportive resources for disadvantaged groups,and can realize the accumulation of social capital for female domestic workers.However,in the context of the current urban-rural mobility,it is difficult to construct a social support network for female domestic workers.Based on this,this study focuses on how social support oriented social work intervention can help female domestic workers build a complete social support network in the face of the growing demand for social services?Based on the service project of Institution J in Jinan City,this research uses a qualitative research method to analyze the status and problems of the social support network for female domestic workers in Jinan City from the two dimensions of the source and function of social support.The research finds: It is found that "mobility" leads to the rupture of the original "local" social support network of female domestic workers,and the construction of the extension support network is "incomplete",which makes it difficult to form an effective support force.Secondly,the group relationship of domestic female workers is mainly homogeneous network relationship,with small scale,strong convergence,obvious introversion and involution.In addition,there are also the following problems,such as the weakness of formal social support network,the lack of corresponding integration and connection,the obvious characteristics of fragmentation,and the low degree of trustBased on the current situation and problems of the social support network for female domestic workers,it is feasible and effective for social support-oriented social work intervention to improve the construction of the social support network for female domestic workers.Based on the analysis of female domestic workers’ service needs,this paper uses a subjective perspective and proposes an intervention path for social work to intervene in the construction of a social support network for female domestic workers.By strengthening the formal and informal support of female domestic workers,a diversified society is built.The support platform realizes the effective integration of support resources from the perspective of dynamic relationship services,so as to help female domestic workers break through the involution of the endogenous social support network,expand the stock of social capital,broaden the scale of the extended social support network,and build dynamic complem entarity,A social support network that integrates internal and external.In the process of constructing the social support network for female domestic workers,the social work intervention from the perspective of subjectivity plays the role of "fill the gap" service.The transformation from "external force driven empowerment" to "individual initiative empowerment" maximizes the scale of social support network of female domestic workers,realizes their self-development,and highlights the social work concept of helping others and self-help.
