The rural school sports is an important component of the rural school education and isalso an important means and way of implementing quality education for students, cultivatingmodern socialist builders of all-round development in virtue, wisdom, body and beauty.School is the place where students accept the basic and systematic knowledge and basic skillon physical education and health. Primary school is the best period for pupils’ physical qualityto be stimulated and developed at speed, strength, endurance and sensitivity and the importantperiod for the pupils’ many important psychological qualities to be formed. In the process ofquality training, the function of physical education can’t be replaced by any other educationalform. However, a large number of studies show that, present sports education in rural middleand primary schools in our country is not satisfactory.Our country has massive land, presenting different situation of educationdevelopment as a result of different regional economic development, therefore, envyingdeveloped regions and lamenting backward areas can’t change the status quo, onlyaccording to the present development situation of rural sports education of one’s own region,putting forward some corresponding solutions should be our vast sports worker’s top priority.This article gets to know that the present situation of sports education in ruralprimary schools in Haigang district of Qinhuangdao are as follows through consultingliterature materials and investigating sports education in rural primary schools:1. structure of PE teachers’ age is not reasonable: the age is too young and theprofessional title is low;2. There is no shortage of sports teachers, but lack of professional teachers;3.. The playground and the sports apparatus are unable to meet the teachingrequirements;4. The single teaching content and the traditional teaching ideas restrict the developmentof sports teaching;5. The existing teaching resources lack effective utilization;6. Students’ attitude toward extracurricular sports activities is good, but the content of extracurricular activities is single, extracurricular physical exercise is insufficient andstudents’ daily exercise time at school is unable to reach one hour.According to the above mentioned problems in rural primary schools in Haigang districtof Qinhuangdao, the suggestions are as the followings:1. Change the way of entrance examination, make some preferential enrollment policy,absorb some experienced teachers, change the existing situation of low-aged structure ofteachers, encourage teachers to learn and constantly improve their own conditions, improvethe teachers’ professional title;2. The departments in charge of Education should make mandatory and concessionarypolicies to attract more sports teachers to rural primary and secondary schools by the use ofadministrative binding force.3. The departments in charge of Education should equip primary and secondary schools,especially rural primary and secondary schools with enough sports equipments and facilitieswith priority in accordance with the national standards.4. With the aid of normal colleges and universities "field work", make the most of thephysical education teachers get the opportunity of advanced studies;5. make use of the natural conditions around rural primary and secondary schoolscontinuously to develop school-based curriculum and enrich the teaching contents.6. carry out the sports that the students love seeing and hearing, enrich extracurricularsports activities, improve sports supervisory mechanism to ensure the students’ one hoursports time every day.
