Since the founding of PRC, especially since the new period, the College Entrance Examination (CEE) in the community has played an important role. It has selected a large number of potential students for many universities. At the same time, there has been a lot of criticism on the CEE system and the CEE papers. The CEE papers are questioned and criticized by people even worse. Not only educators, but also people from all walks of life are quite critical to the CEE papers. Therefore, the reform called for CEE papers have been high.In1985, the Ministry of Education approved of Shanghai as the place where the reform of CEE was made. Twenty years later, great achievements have been made in the design of the Shanghai’s CEE systems and papers. After some years of development and change, the Shanghai’s CEE papers of Chinese have formed its own characteristics and have been widely praise as well.Therefore, we need to review the process of development on Shanghai’s CEE papers. We also need to analyze and summarize their characteristics, and need to explore its value and useful enlightenment. It is expected to brings us useful enlightenment for the making of CEE papers of Chinese and thus to promote the ongoing curriculum reform.The methods, such as analysis, synthesis of logical thinking, using documents, paper analysis, comparative studies and so on, have been used in this paper to analyze the Shanghai’s CEE papers of Chinese, summed up some of the characteristics and obtained some enlightenment.This paper is divided into three parts:introduction, body, and conclusion.Introduction:The main purpose and significance of this paper, research methods and innovation.Body:It is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the historical background and the development of Shanghai’s CEE paper of Chinese. The historical background involves three aspects:the reform of Shanghai high school Chinese curriculum, the reform of Shanghai’s CEE, and the development of the CEE papers of Chinese in China. The development of Shanghai’s CEE paper of Chinese can be divided into two stages:The previous stage (1985-1997):The contents of Shanghai’s CEE paper of Chinese takes the textbook into consideration and pay attention to test basic knowledge and basic skills. The later stage (1998-present):The contents of Shanghai’s CEE paper of Chinese shakes off the shackles of textbook and focuses on testing capabilities. Chapter two comments on Shanghai’s CEE paper of Chinese, analyzes and evaluates its structure and content characteristics. More details have been discussed in this chapter in which the analysis for the content of the paper is divided into three parts. First, the basic knowledge questions; Second, the reading questions; Third, the writing questions.Chapter three summarizes the enlightenment of Shanghai’s CEE paper of Chinese: The first enlightenment is to guide the instruction correctly in high schools by the CEE paper of Chinese. The second enlightenment is to strengthen the relationship between teaching and examination, avoiding separation between teaching and examination; The third enlightenment is to reflect local characteristics of the CEE paper of Chinese appropriately.Conclusion:It is necessary and urgent to improve the quality of the CEE papers, points out the inadequacy of the paper.
