With the knowledge-based economy rapid development, the international competition isincreasingly fierce, and the continuous curriculum reform is carrying on, comprehensivenational strength is fundamental, the competition of qualified person is critical. We mustattach great importance to the aspect of the teacher education in order to develop thecomplete basic knowledge and basic skills. More and more people pay the attention to thepedagogical practice, it is essential to achieve the training objectives, and it is a significantpart in teaching programs. We will apply the knowledge to the pedagogical practicecomprehensively, to train and to exercise the students who are engaged in education, aimed toimprove their teaching ability.There are three important participants in the pedagogical practice, including mentors,internship teachers, and university tutor. How to properly deal with the relationship relates tothe quality and effectiveness of our pedagogical practice. Mentors plays an important rolein the pedagogical practice, it is to say a direct impact on internship teachers.This paper on the motivation and challenge of the mentors is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction, first to the situation of the development of education torequest, then describes the main research methods, including document analysis, interviewsand observations, in addition to the theoretical value and realistic significance.The second part is the combination of the core concepts and related researches. First, theauthor defines the pedagogical practice and mentors, then introduces contemporary Chineseand foreign countries several representative pedagogical practice patterns. Since there is fewresearches on mentors in domestic, the author summarizes the meaning of the tasks andstrategies, as well as the related researches on mentors. In addition, the author also states thetheory of the motivation.The third part is the survey on the guiding teacher from the work of mentoring. This parttakes advantage of interview records, which states the incentives and the distress effects onthe guiding teachers. The incentives of the mentoring work are reflected in their ownprofessional growth, interpersonal relationship, students, external stimuli and theencouragement of the task. For the trouble element, the author mainly states from the policy,the school and themselves.The fourth part is about the suggestions and the proposals of the mentoring work andhow to encourage mentors to work actively. The author suggests from the national level,school level and the mentors themselves.Pedagogical practice should not be just a matter of the normal university, it requires the efforts from the entire educational system. Educational and administrative departments mustgive assurance policies, university and primary school must keep the long cooperationrelationship, aimed to mobilize the enthusiasm of the mentors, so that we can improve thequality of the pedagogical practice.
