Prosocial behavior is behavior that meets community expectations and is useful to others, groups or societies. It is an important indicator of individual socialization and an important foundation for the formation and maintenance of good relations between people and a positive social behavior. In the field of special education in China, although there are some research on the prosocial behavior of special students, but there is hardly intervention research on fostering prosocial behavior of students in reform schools. Students in reform schools are prevalent of emotional disorders or behavioral disorders and maladaptive behavior or even antisocial behavior.They are relatively lack of social behavior and it make them difficult for normal social lives. It is the starting point and destination point of this study to improve their social level by nurturing and developing the prosocial habit and prosocial personality traits of students in reform schools.In this study, it not only fully grasps the present situation of lack in prosocial behavior of Students in reform schools and of application of group counseling which is applied to nurture prosocial behavior of teenagers,but also bases on the sociability of the prosocial behavior among young people.It explores the significance of this methods and techniques for nurturing prosocial behavior of students in reform schools by conducting empirical research of group intervention methods-group counseling.Combining with interviews and psychological questionnaires measuring,20subjects are filtered from students in reform schools.They are randomly divided into two groups, experimental group (n=10), the control group (n=10). The experimental group participate in group counseling activities, while the control group without any treatment. Comparing to the two groups of students of the measurement results from measuring the experimental group and the control group before the intervention and after the intervention by the youth prosocial behavior questionnaire.The data analysis shows that:in the comparison of the youth prosocial behavior questionnaire, the overall score shows significant differences that the overall level of the experimental group of prosocial behavior has been effectively improved; the experimental group of students in reform schools changes in the four dimensions of prosocial behavior among young people questionnaire in the comparison before the intervention and after the intervention.Scores of the altruistic dimension have a very significant differences and scores of the trait dimension and relational dimension show significant differences.In other words,three dimensions have significant change or even a very significant change,while it also improves in the dimension of compliance with the public good. To a large extent, the intervention effectively improves the level of prosocial behavior of the experimental group.It is not only to explore the effectiveness and advantages of the group counseling intervention of cultivating prosocial behavior of students in reform schools through the research,the results also show that the implementation of group counseling methods and techniques is necessary for students in reform schools who are relative lack of prosocial behavior and it can effectively improve the level of prosocial behavior of students in reform schools which helps them better adapt to society.Group counseling can be promoted as a cultivated way for young people to prosocial behavior.At the same time, there is a positive inspiration to the ideological and political education.
