According to the changing era,special education has become one of the hot issues of the nation and the society,including the teaching of students with visual impairment.The goal of special education teaching is to cultivate disabled children to be with good personality and to handle necessary survival skills,so that they may be in an impregnable position in the furious competition currently,and finally realize their self-worth.One of the goals of school education for those students is to cultivate their interpersonal skills so that they can be modified to the needs of future life and social work easily.Through years of front-line teaching for students with visual impairment,the author found that due to visual defects,their sensory function is damaged,hence the action is limited to some certain extent as well,resulting in a great decrease of opportunities for visual impairment students to get closed to the surroundings.In addition,due to their own defects,improper family education,misunderstanding and prejudice of others,the personality development of those students has been affected to varying degrees,and their interpersonal relationships have been interrupted at the same time,which may affect their future study and life as well.The purpose of this study is to make use of interpersonal interaction within the group through group-counseling,so as to promote them to learn new attitudes and behaviors through observing,learning and experiencing,adjusting and improving their interpersonal relationship with others.This study consists of two parts: the author summarizes and analyzes the general situation and influencing factors of interpersonal relationship of primary school students with visual impairment by means of semi-structured interview,participatory observation and scale survey in study 1;At the same time,basing on the actual situation and characteristics of interpersonal relationship among visually impaired pupils,the author carried out study 2.Also,it is premised on Group Dynamics Theory and Social Learning Theory in terms of the value of helping others and self-help.Moreover,this study also put emphasis on the four dimensions: conversation behavior,communication,dealing with people and heterosexual communication in the light ofthe Comprehensive Diagnostic Scale of Interpersonal Relationship compiled by Zheng Richang(1999)and his group.Combining with the objectives of this study,the author resorted to interpersonal intervention program for primary school students with visual impairment,designed and implemented ten group-counseling activities in order to explore whether group-counseling can improve the interpersonal relationship of primary school students with visual impairment or not,and the conclusions are as following:The first study shows that:(1)the problem of interpersonal relationship is commonly seen in primary school students with visual impairment,and 80% of them have interpersonal distress to some certain degree,which needs to be paid attention to;(2)the interpersonal relationship of visually impaired primary school students is affected by limited communication mode;(3)the interpersonal relationship of visually impaired primary school students is affected by family atmosphere and family members' attitude;(4)the interpersonal relationship of visually impaired primary school students is also affected by network;(5)the interpersonal relationship of visually impaired pupils is affected by the degree of visual impairment,individual personality difference and levels of ability.Another conclusion we can draw from the second study is that: after the interventio n of group-counseling on the interpersonal relationship of primary school students wit h visual impairment,the results of data processing of the pre-test and post-test on con versation behavior,on communication,on hospitality and on heterosexual communica tion embodies significant differences.It indicates that group-counseling leads a essent ial role in reducing and improving the interpersonal problems of visually impaired pri mary school students.
