Values, as overall evaluation and perspectives of significance and importance which people hold to objective things around, is an important factor which influence people’s behavior generation. Motivation, known in psychology as internal drive which can directly make human beings’behavior tend to the object, also the internal process which can stimulate and maintain target and point to behavior. Learning motivation of college students is the internal factor that stimulates their needs for study, also the internal drive that maintains their learning activities and promotes the activities to one learning target. Under the social background of diversity, learning motivation of modern college students faces unprecedented challenges. Because of the difference of growth environment and life background, learning motivation of one college student varies greatly from another, which can be directly reflected in differences of learning outcome. Consequently, how to improve learning motivation of college students and then improve their learning outcome becomes the focus of college student cultivation.Currently, the research of learning motivation has already become an important direction of the theory of psychological motivation and hotspot issues of theory research of ideological and political education. Ideological and political education focuses on what people need and how to excavate people’s positive motivation, for this reason, cultivating people’s needs and motivation is an important method for ideological and political education. Value education, as the important factor that influences motivation generation and the important part of ideological and political education, is of significant importance. The research is based on two clues. One is theoretical and qualitative research, based on problems sets and meaning of research, which clarify the connotation characteristics of value and undergraduates’learning motivation, and then analyze related theories about how value influences their learning motivation. The other is empirical and quantitative research, which discuss the relationship between value and learning motivation dimension by questionnaires. We have some discoveries by the research. Firstly, there is a high level of significantly positive correlation between college students’value and their learning motivation. Secondly, there is a moderate level of significantly positive correlation between value and seeking for knowledge, social orientation, material orientation, personal achievements, and there is a low level of significantly positive correlation between value and fear of failure. The related factors of four dimensions of correlation between value and learning motivation can be ranked from highest to lowest by social orientation, material orientation, seeking for knowledge and personal achievements. Thirdly, the influence on learning motivation by primary dimension of value can be ranked from strongest to weakest by goal value, mean value and regulation value. I build the model of influence on learning motivation by values, and put forward countcrmeasures according to characteristics and cause of values and learning motivation and combination of qualitative and quantitative research.
