This paper takes the brand badminton competition of universities in Beijingto investigate the situation of the badminton sports and events, through theliterature material method, expert interview method, SWOT basic method,questionnaire survey method, logical reasoning and so on. Physical educationteachers of15colleges and universities in Beijing, related staff in badmintontournament of universities in Beijing, sports intermediary institutions andexpert teachers on sports event management were investigated. This paperuses SWOT analytical method on brand badminton competition of universitiesfrom the aspects of present situation of badminton movement, facilities of venue,ideas, policy direction and events operation. Based on the summary of constraintsof brand badminton competition building of universities in Beijing, the studyaims to analyze the basic way to create the brand badminton competition.According to the survey, there are many advantages of building brandbadminton competition in colleges and universities of Beijing. They are:numerous universities and some universities have many high level badminton teams;badminton sport is popular in colleges and universities; basic badmintontournament is numerous which has formed a certain marketing model; perfect venuefacilities; rich human resources and government support for the sports industrydevelopment, and demonstration effect of the Olympic Games. But there are someunfavorable factors: lack of school training venues; shortage of professionalevent management talent; less boutique event; lack of effective competitionpropaganda; low level of marketing operation; poor management of competitivesports in universities; pressure from other competitions.According to the result of SWOT analysis, the basic ways put forward by expertinterview to build brand badminton competition in Beijing colleges anduniversities are: to strive for national or Beijing government preferentialpolicy and financial support actively, improve the badminton venue facilitiesin colleges and universities, draw the successful experience from the OlympicGames, and set up the perfect mechanism of badminton competition; Change ideas,develop the market, open multi-channel propaganda and focus on solving theproblem of lack of funds; combined with Beijing characteristics, improve thequality of basic events and build brand; make full use of the advantages ofcolleges and universities, train and bring the professional talents; check thequalification for competition strictly, and form the open and fair competitionenvironment; improve the system of laws and regulations and increase theintensity of norms and the punishment; deepen the connotation of the brandcompetition to form the "core competence".
