Badminton course is an important part of physical education curriculum in higher vocational colleges.The badminton movement is easy to take,with strong interest,fitness and competitive characteristics.It is consistent with the better physical and mental health requirements of higher vocational schools to enhance students' physical fitness,train students' physical exercise and play an important role in lifelong physical education consciousness.At present,facing the problems of poor technical foundation of badminton,learning interest and low learning enthusiasm in higher vocational colleges,exploring the teaching methods that conforms to the psychological characteristics of the students and embodies the characteristics of badminton movement is the important task to study the reform of physical education curriculum and the reform of teaching methods at present.Compared with other teaching methods,competition teaching method has the characteristics of competitive,playful,interesting,practical and exercise value.It can not only fully arouse students' interest in learning and maximize their sports potential.At the same time,it is also suitable for the teaching of badminton in higher vocational colleges.This is the application of competition in badminton teaching in higher vocational colleges.The purpose of the study of the race teaching method.Using the methods of literature,expert interview,questionnaire survey,teaching experiment,mathematical statistics and other scientific research methods,the experimental research of badminton optional course in higher vocational colleges is studied by competition teaching method.30 boys and 2017 Mechatronics schools of the 2017 grade biology College of Wuhan Polytechnic are selected for the badminton elective class.30 boys in badminton elective course are teaching subjects.After 13 weeks of classroom experiment,we draw the following conclusions: 1.the use of competition teaching method effectively improve the attendance rate;2.use of diversified competition methods to effectively improve the technical level and physical quality;3.use of competitive teaching method to effectively improve the learning efficiency and learning quality;4.use of competition teaching method is beneficial.Promote the improvement of students' psychological quality.And put forward the following suggestions: 1.reasonable arrangement of students' Sports volume;2.teachers should have high professional quality;3.consider the students' exercise load in the exercise;4 design a set of incentive and punishment system based on the characteristics of the students.
