Perfectionism is a personality traits, perfectionists set unrealistic high standards, and do notforgive their own demerits. In addition, Perfectionism affects the achievement in aggressive ornegative way. Win the championship and seeking success is main goal for athletes, so it isvery necessary to measure athletes’ perfectionism and discuss the two-way influence for sportperformance. The purpose of this study is to determine the structure of university studentathletes’ perfectionism, and development of scale of university student athletes’ perfectionism.Provide a effective tool for the measurement of university student athletes’ perfectionism.This study uses qualitative research methods and literature analysis determine the structure ofuniversity student athletes’ perfectionism:high standards, concern about the mistake,internalized pressure, escape imperfect. The primary questionnaire was carried out to357university student athletes. Based on item analysis and EFA, some items was revised ordeleted. There were new five factors in questionnaire and they accounted for41.14%of thevariance(variance is respectively20.76%,8.26%,4.82%,3.78%,3.53%). Concern about themistake(loading0.40~0.73), high standards(loading0.40~0.61), internalized coach pressure(loading0.48~0.67), negativity pressure(loading0.44~0.67), Be eager for success(loading0.40~0.67) are new dimensions for this study. To analysis the formal questionnaire date we foundthat the questionnaire has good reliability and validity. The formal questionnaire was carried out,and379questionnaires were collected. The result of CFA showed the five factor model came up totest standard(χ~2/df:2.80,GIF:0.87).This study obtained the following conclusions:First, the questionnaire of university student athletes’ perfectionism has five dimensions:Concern about the mistake, high standards, internalized coach pressure, negativity pressure,Be eager for success.Second, the questionnaire has good internal consistency reliability and good fit of theoreticalstructure. The reliability, content validity and construct validity can be accepted.
