This study aims to discuss the problems that exist in Chinese vocabulary teaching within the Korea High-school Curriculum, analyzing the basic vocabulary by using semantic field theory, investigating how to improve teaching efficiency through games for vocabulary reviewing and improving the practical Chinese ability. This project has two main goals:one is to help vocabulary extension and stimulate the students" interest in learning Chinese. And the other to provide reviewing solutions to the teachers and then helps them carry on the teaching work. One of the main purposes of this study is to help to extend vocabulary through systematic study. At the same time, the students" interest can be stimulated through vocabulary reviewing games so that more students would continue to learn Chinese. This study can also provide scientific basis to teachers for strategies in teaching. The main research methods in this study are literature review, questionnaire survey, analytical investigation and teaching design. Not only on the basis of previous theories and research in this field, this study also analyzes the problems in Chinese vocabulary teaching through the results of questionnaires obtained from the survey. The results show that the students have few chances to revise the vocabulary that had been learned. In order to solve this problem, taking Chinese Language I as example, this study analyzed the basic vocabulary in the Korea High-school Curriculum based on the semantic field theory. The analysis procedure was operated from different views. For example, the analysis was made from the point of both speech and grade. The vocabulary was analyzed based on synonymy, antonymy, category and order. Later, the vocabulary was analyzed based on collocation which can be classified into verb-object collocation and collocation of quantifiers and nouns. In addition, various games were designed according to the results, where the games could make up the shortcomings of the vocabulary reviewing scheme. The Chinese teaching method has long been emphasizing teaching aspects such as classifying and the popularity of words. The research about the semantic relationships is mainly focused on the teaching method, with no research about the vocabulary reviewing. Both in China and Korea, there are many game based teachings applied in vocabulary teaching, but few use vocabulary reviewing. This study manages to have a breakthrough on Chinese vocabulary teaching through the designed games, and help the Korean learners to learn Chinese vocabulary in a more enjoyable, efficient and systematic way.
