Research On The Changing Of "Huaping"Muslim Community In Lanzhou

In Lanzhou City,Muslims "living around mosque " living pattern is formed since the Ming Yongle, Zhengde years,since then, large and small mosque community is located in the city,the Muslim community is linked to the geographical structure, so the Muslim population can lives and breeds its cultural heritage.In the context of urbanization, the Muslim community changing is a part of social changing. Compared with other Muslim communities,Huaping Muslim community’s edge location determines the particularity of its development and changing. This paper attempts to describe the changes of the community from the population changes,economic changes,education changes, religious change, ethnic relations changes and the way of communication changes and other aspects. The most significant symbol of its changes is the population changes. the community’s strong religious atmosphere and lower barriers make a large number of Muslims floating population into the community, and the old families gradually moved away from the community, community "acquaintances world "gradual deconstruction. Because the invasion of multicultural,it appears the tendency of loose and segregation in community, meanwhile the community’s cohesion and integration decreased. For the maintenance of ethnic identity, the Muslim ethnic cultural consciousness use the network, cultural lectures, and NGO to build a diverse Muslim ethnic identity, and thus braided the broader Muslim group interaction networks, which continue to divide Muslims groups of diverse faith demands of product, but also the Muslim communities to use their own cultural characteristics, in response to the modernization process highlights.Huaping Muslim community changing occurred in the role of the market economy and self-cultural adaptation, it is the result of the ruthless market-oriented, but also urban development inevitable factor. Situations facing the community continue to divide, urban Muslim community should actively take advantage of the cultural resources integration of ethnic identity, also play a positive role in urban construction of the legal community, to promote the building of a harmonious society.
