In consideration of lagging in a aspect of the biological materials and biologicalteaching, it is necessary to supplement appropriately frontier knowledge of biologicalscience in the process of biology teaching in senior high school. Based on the analysisof the current situation of the students, preliminary experimental teaching andinvestigation were conducted through the combination of infiltration of frontierknowledge of biological science with inquiry-based learning. The objective of the studywas to improve the students’ biological interest in learning, enlarge students’ knowledgeand let the student obtain the lifelong learning ability. This paper is divided into seven chapters: the first chapter summarized themeaning, significance and necessity of inquiry learning and biological science andtechnology; the second chapter discussed the inquiry learning and knowledge learningtheory; the third chapter briefly described the general situation of the research at homeand abroad; the fourth chapter focused on the investigating of inquiry learning andlearning the situation of cutting-edge knowledge in biological science students in ourschool, analyzing and summarizing so as to lay the foundation for the next step researchpractice; the fifth chapter described the forefront of biological science inquiry practiceresearch learning process in the form of case; the sixth chapter summarized the resultsof practice research through statistics and analysis, and draws the conclusion. Theseventh chapter presented the existing problems and some suggestions on futureresearch. This study combined the actual situation of our school with various forms of theinquiry learning in biological science, practice process observation, understanding andtesting of studentsBased on the biological test scores compared with the control class, students’ learning skills were greatly improved to some extent, such as learning initiative, interest in biological learning, the ability of obtaining information and inquirylearning ability.
