Around what is socialism, what are the advantages of socialism, what is therelationship between socialism and capitalism and other issues, We have socialismidentity research of six universities college students in Southern through questionnaires.On the basis of analysis、combing research data, we found that although college studentshave some cognition of the socialist, there is still some things to be desired: somestudents’ understanding of "what is socialism" is not profound; some studentsquestioned whether communism can achieve; a few students questioned the trends oftwo inevitable; some students confused the stage of development of our society today;some students’ value orientation appeared trend of diversification. The ideologicalcharacteristics of the students is the internal reason that affecting college students’socialist identity, external factors is divided into two aspects of international anddomestic, low tide of the world socialist movement and peaceful evolution offensive ofthe Western hostile forces are international reasons; domestic reasons are mainlydivided into the confusion in ideological field as well as a large number ofcontradictions and problems in the economic and social life. and a large number ofcontradictions and problems in the economic and social life is the decisive factoraffecting college students socialist identity. To further improve the socialist identity ofthe contemporary college students should focus on further strengthen the collegestudents of education in Marxist theory, boycott erroneous thinking at home and abroadand the "Westernization" and "differentiation" plot, strengthen the study of the basicproblems of socialism, fully implement the Party’s basic line in the primary stage ofsocialism.
