The relationship between environment and development is one of the mostimportant problems in current international society. With the development of China’seconomy and environmental protection, it is very urgent to conduct environmentaleducation in middle school. In this thesis, the author did an experimental education inNo.52Middle School of Changchun, No.108Middle School of Changchun, and No.1Bilingual School of Changchun. The students of Grade seven in junior middle schoolare the subject investigated, the prevailing biology text of junior middle school is theteaching basis, penetration education is the main teaching method. Environmentalprotection consciousness, basic knowledge and skills of environmental science areintegrated smoothly into biology teaching in junior middle school. The aim is to explorehow to improve environmental consciousness and behavior of students, promoteconsideration and emphasis of students on environmental problems through penetrationeducation.The status and problems of basic environmental education in foreign countries andChina were analyzed, the application of sustainable development theory, educationalpsychology theory, Taylor theory, and constructivism theory in penetration educationwas discussed. Interview and questionnaire methods were used to investigate the statusof environmental education and environmental quality of students in junior middleschool of Changchun. Points of combination and penetration of biology text contents ofjunior middle school and environmental protection consciousness, environmentalprotection behavior were found. In the process of biology classroom teaching, textknowledge and environmental education were combined reasonably. Finally, the effects of environmental education penetration were assessed, some related suggestions wereput forward for effective implement of basic environmental education.After environmental education penetration of one semester, the environmentalprotection consciousness of experimental group (penetration group) was remarkablyhigher than that of control group. Environmental education penetration in biologyteaching of junior middle school is conducive for students to establish the concept ofsustainable development, meanwhile the environmental quality of teachers can beimproved comprehensively. Curriculum penetration, which has good feasibility andeffect, is one of the useful approaches of environmental education in junior middleschool.
