Functional image refers to the curve composed of points which reflect therelations between independent variables and dependent variables in rectangularcoordinate system. As a concise, visualized and imagic representation combiningnumber and shape, functional images play an important role in physics teaching by aclear reflection of different physical quantities. Integrating image method into physicslearning can help students understand physics concepts, learn physics laws, analyzephysics experiments in depth and solve physics problems. No matter prevailingphysics textbooks or college entrance examinations of physics in recent years haveurged higher requirements on students’ cognition, understanding and application ofdifferent kinds of physics functional images. Meanwhile, as a visualized formrepresenting physics problems, image method is a measure which assists teachers ineffective instruction. Therefore, to survey and know about the current situation andexisting problems of present physics functional image teaching in senior high school,to explore the role and value of functional image method in physics teaching insenior high school from the perspective of theory and practice, and to design theinstruction model of physics functional image method which suits the presentcurriculum reform, can enrich the teaching theories of physics image method andprovide a reference for physics teachers.The theme of this dissertation is The Application of Functional ImageMethod in Physics Teaching in Senior High School. On the basis of theoreticalresearch, empirical investigation and teaching experiments, the dissertationexpounds the role and value of functional image method in improving physicsteaching, analyzes the current situation and existing problems of the application offunctional image method in physics teaching in senior high school, and puts theinstruction model of functional image method into practice, thus drawing theconclusion that applying functional image method to physics teaching can effectivelytrain students’ ability of thinking and improve the efficiency of physics learning.For the need of theory and practice, the study includes the following content:The first part introduces the background of the study, with literature review,expounds the research status of the application of functional image method inphysics teaching at home and abroad.The second part surveys the current situation of the application offunctional image method in physics teaching in senior high school and the factorswhich influence students’ application of image method in physics learning byquestionnaire, and come to an elementary conclusion by the analysis ofquestionnaire results.The third part explores the role and value of functional image method inphysics teaching in senior high school from the theoretical perspective of educationalpsychology, and analyzes the teaching function of functional image method withexamples.The fourth part tries establishing an instruction model of physics functionalimage method based on the content of teaching materials.The fifth part analyzes and testifies the effectiveness of the instructionmodel of functional image method in senior high school’s physics teaching practices.The sixth part draws the research conclusion and introspects thedeficiencies of the study.
