In the1960s, service learning curriculum originated in the United States. In the90s itdeveloped for the American national education reform movement. At present, service learningcurriculum has a wide range of promotion and recognition in Taiwan and Hong Kong. However,in mainland China it is still in its initial stage, and Nankai University is the first open servicelearning course of university. The first purpose of this research is to explore how to design,implement, evaluate service learning curriculum and its citizen education function.The secondpurpose is to supply an case for other universities. This thesis mainly uses the literature datamethod, interview method, case method, comparison and questionnaire research methods. Theresearch indicates that the design of service learning curriculum not only has the scientific basisbut also there is no lack of flexibility. The curriculum implementation steps are quite careful,and curriculum evaluation is more objective and justice. Service learning curriculum citizeneducation function is increasingly obvious. For students, it can teach them the knowledge of theconcept of citizenship, rights and obligations, laws and regulations and so on, promoting theability of communication, critical thinking, rational thinking and expression, training students’citizen participation and the sense of social responsibility, promoting college students’ attitudeand view of value creation. For the colleges and universities, the service learning curriculumcan promote the improvement of teacher-student relationship. For community, it can promotethe improvement of the system of community. The research has a certain theoretical referencesignificance for the universities to open the service learning curriculum.The introduction part introduces the research background, research ideas, researchmethods, domestic and foreign research review.The first chapter is an overview of the service learning curriculum, providing the theoryfoundation for the case study of the university.The second chapter introduces the case school service learning curriculum background and the implementation status of the service learning curriculum.The third chapter is the focus of the study, doing in-depth and meticulous researchseparately from the service learning curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation of thethree aspects of the service learning curriculum.The fourth chapter is the conclusion of the study and reflection.
