In the report of the 17 th National Congress of CPC,President Hu Jintao put forward the guidelines for enhancing the education of citizen consciousness.In the great journey of building socialism with Chinese characteristics,it is helpful for the realization of Chinese dream and the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation to enhance the education of citizen consciousness in the ideological realm.Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region,which lies on the border areas of China,is of great importance in strategic position because it can protect north-west barrier.What's more,to safeguard the stability of Xinjiang means,to some degree,to maintain the stability of the whole China.The high school students from multiethnic backgrounds shoulder the sacred duty of the future development our motherland.It is quite significant to carry out the citizen consciousness education and raise the level of their citizen consciousness because it can contribute to the sustainable economic development and the social stability and security of Xinjiang.kashgar,with an undeveloped economy,adverse natural conditions like too much wind with sand,lies in the southern part of Xinjiang.The economic and social conditions require the high school students to increase their world consciousness and environmental protection awareness.Under “the Belt and Road Initiatives”,kashgar will become an international trade city,so raising the level of their citizen consciousness of high school students will help shape a good image of this city.Therefore,it is quite necessary to discuss and study the current situations of citizen consciousness and education of high school students in kashgarThe thesis first expounds the necessity of the cultivation of the citizen consciousnesses in high school history teaching in which comes from the requirement of the history curriculum standards of high school and the necessity of the cultivation of the citizen consciousnesses of high school students for it is a multi-ethnic-populated areas.By doing surveys at three different high schools in kashgar,we can get an understanding of the current situations of citizen consciousness and education of high school students from multiethnic backgrounds.The overall situation of the level of citizen consciousness of high school students is good,however,some parts are still weak and there are some problems in education.According to the results of the study,the thesis analyses the reasons for the weak citizen consciousness of high school students from different angles.At last,the thesis puts forward the principles we should follow when cultivating citizen consciousness of high school students in kashgar and expounds how to cultivate citizen consciousness of high school students from the two perspectives of the school and the history teachers.The school needs to offer a course on the history of Xinjiang,provide regular training for history teachers and change the traditional evaluation methods.The history teachers need to change their traditional education concepts and be good at integrating different kinds of education resources and using different teaching methods flexibly.Through these related measures and strategies,the thesis looks forward to offering some useful advice for the raising of citizen consciousness of high school students in kashgar.
