The importance of children’s life education has been widely demonstrated andrecognized. The diversified practice patterns emerge with the requirement of youngchildren’s life education. Facing such a confusing mode of educational practice, weshould figure out a proper route for children’s development. The Narrative inquiry is anew teaching mode emerged with the boom of early reading and the introduction ofthe theory of narrative. Narration occupies a unique and important position in the fieldof early childhood education. Narrative exists widely in children’s daily life. It ischildren’s intimate partner, from which children learn and grow up. Susan Eager whoworks as a narrative researcher said:"The stories we heard and told others willdetermine who we will be in the future." The closed relationship between narrativeand children as well as the narrative’s value on children’s life may provide a new andsuitable way for the practice of life education of early children. Therefore, anglicizingprevious’ points, the author try to find a new approach from the perspective ofnarrative inquiry. Based on the construction of narrative teaching of young children’slife education, the full text is divided into four parts.The first part is the study of preparation. This part concerns the significance of thetopic, literature review, research purpose, and research method.The second part mentions concept analysis. This part expounds the connotation oflife education for preschool children, narrative inquiry and narrative teaching. Theconcept of life education of preschool children is defined from practical level,educational objectives, educational content and educational method. The narrativecontent is jived unique significance from its relationship with the children’s lifedevelopment. The concept of narrative teaching Based on previous’ study and thecompare with story teaching, the author give significance to the narrative teaching atlast.The third part is about the origin of the theory. At first, it states the basic features ofchildren’s life education and explains narrative teaching. Then it demonstrates thereason why children’s life should constructed on narrative teaching. Lastly, the author explains the connotation of the narrative teaching of children’s life. What’s more, thispart also discusses the theoretical basis of the narrative teaching of childhood lifeeducation.The fourth part is the design and practice of children’s life education based onnarrative. It contents the structure, components and examples of design.Trying to expand the education research, this paper presents the unique significanceand connotation of narrative in children’s life education, clarifies the relationshipbetween narrative and children’s life growth, reflects and constructs the practice ofchildren’s life education. The action research part of this study reflects the distinctpractical significance. What results will be achieved when theory turns into practice,the research part of this paper will open the door of verify the practice of theoreticalconstruction of narrative teaching.
