Reading teaching has been the important part of Chinese teaching.The teaching processand the teaching method of each period have its characteristics, and in novel teaching, atraditional teaching mode has formed. The mode plays a very important role. But, along with theimprovement of new curriculum goal, the teaching mode appear restrictive. The novel is richin connotation and characteristics, so how to read novels and achieve the purpose of teachingis a very important problem. The novel teaching is facing a new challenge ,so the reflectionand exploration for novel teaching is extremely important and necessary.In the current literature narrative theory has been mature disciplines, especially for thenovel narrative research. It deeply affected the novel writing and reading practice. Modernnarrative theory is value for novel teaching. The innovation of this paper lies in emphasizingthat the both not opposite to each other, but learn from each other.They promote the reform ofChinese Teaching together. In conclusion, this paper uses the methods of theory and practiceand introduces the narrator, the narrative perspective, the narrative rhythm, the narrativescheduling theory and the enlightenment on the novel teaching. I hope teachers could bringsome novel knowledge and narrative technique of narrative theory into teaching, in order tochange the current novel knowledge solidification and explore a new path for the novelteaching .This article can be divided into five parts. The 1st part is the problem of the traditionalnovel teaching method under the new curriculum ideas. In this part, traditional novel teachingmethod was summarized by discussing the many times changes after national founding. Theform of the traditional novel teaching method has its population in recent context and thelegitimacy of post-modernity, and is also consistent with specific conditions and laws ofnovels. So, the traditional novel teaching method can be lasted for a long time. On the otherhand, we should learn the shortcomings of it: the outmoded novel knowledge that can notattract students, attention; the uninteresting content that is lack of deep-seated sensation; theunitary teaching method that suppress the students, creative thinking.The 2nd part is about the significance of modern narration theory which is used as the new angle of novel teaching.Front the live question, novel teaching needs adds something new toarouse its vigour, light the passion of both teachers and students and turn on the charm.Modern narration theory, which keeps in close contact with novels, applies a new angle ofnovel teaching reform. We discuss the modern narration theory used as the new angle ofnovel teaching by study the existing summarization and dissertation about objective andsignificance of the study.The 3rd part is about the value and revelation on novel teaching, which is introduced by themodern narration theory. The great significance of the modern narration theory on the rhythmand pattern of novel teaching was summarized by studying some important rhythms ofmodern narration theory, such as relators, narrative perspective, rhythm, time sequence, andso on. Important viewpoints of novel teaching supply novel reading with new rhythm andmethod. It is important for teachers to teach novels, and is helpful for students to learn themethod of narrative analysis and improve reading ability and appreciation.The 4th part is about the conversion of modern narration theory in novel teaching. Only thecorrelative rhythm of modern narration theory is applied into teaching practice, students canunderstand the text. This part focuses on the transformation from theory knowledge topractice. We select some sections of novels to design lessons. This can offer us theimplication for the application of the modern narration theory.The 5th part is about the combination of the modern narration theory and traditional novelteaching. In this process, we found that there rhythms were not separate, they four wereinterdependent and based on the traditional novel teaching. This means that we can notabandon the traditional novel teaching completely. Traditional novel teaching has its value,and it is not the opposite of novel teaching on the modern narration theory. The renovation ofnovel teaching which we hammer at is based on the combination and collision of traditionalnovel teaching and modern narration theory, and will be succeed in novel teaching.
