With the rapid development of sports tourism, carbon emissions of the entire sportstourism driven by a series of industry chain is a problem that not allow to ignore, thenegative effects on the environment is becoming more and more prominent. Once again,“green and low carbon economy development” is the focus in the “12th five-year” plan,the concept of low carbon sports tourism is in line with the modern ecological sportstourism mode, is a new way of sports tourism development. And college students arethe builders of the future country, the low carbon environmental protection for collegestudents is a kind of responsibility. College students and sports tourism like two window,showing the strength of education and economic power, development of collegestudents’ low carbon sports tourism, not only can evoke students environmentalprotection responsibility, sets up the concept of low carbon environmental protection,can correctly guide the college students’ sports consumption idea, promote studentslifelong sports consciousness, for national and society’s long-term development has aprofound significance now.In this paper,“the present situation investigation of college students participate inlow carbon sports tourism in suzhou” as the research object, using literature,questionnaire investigation, expert interview, spot investigation, logic analysis andmathematical statistics research methods, research and comparative analysis thesituation of college students’ low carbon sports tourism, find out the related factorsaffecting college students’ low carbon sports tourism and the existing problems, to guidecollege students to participate in low carbon sports tourism, and thus cultivate collegestudents’ lifelong sports consciousness, promote the sustainable development of sportstourism. Research results show that: first, the degree of suzhou college students’understanding about low carbon sports tourism is not high, but willing to participate inthe motive is very positive, just don’t know how to implement them; Secondly, abouttime arrangement, boys prefer summer vacation, the girls would choose weekends andfestivals, and travel in general in a day or two; Thirdly, suzhou college students aremore willing to in the transportation and tourist route for low carbon sports tourism,then consider to choose more low carbon sports events; Fourthly, suzhou collegestudents would not like to arranged by travel agency, think to follow group is strongbinding and heavy business, only to promote "high carbon" consumption behavior ofcollege students; Fifthly, college students participate in low carbon sports tourismsituation in suzhou that there was no significant correlation with the cost of living highand low.Based on the above research conclusion, to promote the development of suzhoucollege students’ low carbon sports tourism, must make college students form a goodhabit of low carbon sports tourism, pay attention to teaching skills, key beginning teachcollege students how to do, intensify campus publicity. Their values and behavior willinfluence and lead the people sports travel habits and behaviors in the future toward thegood direction, and gradually lead the direction of the sports tourism development,become the mainstream of low carbon sports tourism market in the future. Combinedwith the characteristic of suzhou city, to develop cycling and walking tours of collegestudents in suzhou city. Second, sports and tourism departments should cooperate, to digin-depth sports tourism resources, to grasp the mainstream and exact way of the collegestudents low carbon sports tourism, the reasonable development of low carbon sportstourism project, promote the development of college students’ low carbon sportstourism.
