Study On The Translation Problems Of Feminist Works Since The New Times

The rise and development of Chinese feminism is mainly through translating and introducting the foreign feminis’ important works. Translating and introducting the important works of feminism abroad is significant,especially in the New Times when social environment is more free and people pursuit ideological liberation. According to the present situation of translating the foreign feminism writings, The feminism in China’s translation history has been divided into four stages,they are1981-1984,1985-1990,1991-1999, from2000to the present.This division is the reflection on the open social background, the domestic and international feminism’s development and so on. The development of Feminism has acquired outstanding achievement,at the same time,there are also some problems. In the course of Chinese feminism’s development, Translating and introducting western feminism has guided the development of Chinese feminist.But this also makes domestic feminism scholars rely on the western feminism and thought it as authority. In the face of the post modernism’s confliction, domestic feminism scholars began to re-examine the importance of foreign feminism, they trying to find local historical resources which is in accordance with the Chinese situation. According to the analysis of Chinese women’s history, we can find, Chinese women’s fate is always closely linked with the national liberation. That is to say, if feminism want to develope and establish native feminism theory, we must face up to the relationship between women and country, and the multiple developement, putting feminism in the particular historical environment, such as politics, economic, cultural and so on, breaking through the limit of only translating and introducting the foreign feminism works, translating the latest feminism achievements of each national comprehensivly, Only through this,Chinese feminism can be guidanced and obtained long-term development.Moreover, Speeding up the construction of the discipline is necessary,in this course,domestic feminism scholars role which is enlighten the public shoule be played, By this means,Chinese feminism can obtain long-term development, and build feminism with Chinese characteristics.
