After promulgating the Senior Geography Curriculum Standard (Experimental), SeniorGeography Education Curriculum reform was officially started in the national scole.Geography Curriculum System requires eductors to not to forcefully feed students withknowledge, but to equip students with the basic knowledge and basic skills. What’s more,eductors should assist students to positively think and autonomously learn about geography, toappreciate the sustainable development and strength the responsibility for the society andpride of our nation.The main goal of senior geography teaching in China is to help students to learn theknowledge of natural geography and social geography and understand “Religional SustainableDevelopment”, and to apply basic principles of harmonious development of human andenvironment to practice. In the process of dealing with the application of the theory the thepractice, the map, called “the second language of geography”, has the irreplaceable, uniquefunctions. It can serve as geographical teaching essential tool and show the geographicalspace and convey geographical information. Geography is of region. Regional geographyaccounts for a large proportion in the geographical knowledge and is also the core content ofsenior geography curriculum.Starting with introduction to the purpose of senior geography new curriculum reform, theauthor made a research on the regional geography teaching, especially on the relevantknowledge of regional map. The paper comprehensively analysed the conation, structure andimplementation of regional map-centered teaching module based on analysis of the regionalgeography teaching characteristics, especially focusing on the structure of regionalmap-centered teaching module in regional geography teaching in senior schools, and stronglyput forward Comparison method, Three-step method and Multi-map method in geographyteaching, which were illustrated with some cases.
