Regional Geography is an important part of geography curriculum of senior high school,which fully reflects it is regional and reflects its comprehensiveness; it is the basal part of geography knowledge students learn. Currently, in regional geography teaching of middle school teaching models are obsolete, high input gains low efficiency, and the effective teaching and learning strategies are lacking. The new curriculum and other issues can’t be reflected. In high school for geography teacher conducting regional geography teaching, how to better help students learn geography knowledge and access to more effective regional geography learning methods to improve students’ ability to solve practical problems is one of the difficult problems to solve in regional geography teaching of middle school. In order to meet the current needs of regional geography teaching and learning in middle schools, optimizing the effectiveness of regional geography teaching strategy is necessary.After a review of the literature the author found that the related study on the regional high school geography teaching strategies is limited. On the basis of relevant theories through questionnaires, statistics and other data the author carries out the investigation on the current situation of high school geography teaching for. The author selects four middle schools of different levels in Shangqiu of Henan Province as the sample survey research area; based on a lot of investigation, statistical analysis of the questionnaire, geography curriculum, teaching theory, constructivism, meaningful learning theory and basic subjects relevant theoretical structure theory of pedagogy the author analyzes current regional geographic advantages and shortcomings of high school teaching strategies. Finally, according to the regional high school geography teaching situation and their own teaching experience the author proposes the specific operational optimization strategy of regional geography teaching and comes up with regional geography teaching strategies to optimize design case for further instructions.In this study through questionnaire survey the thesis carries out the investigation and statistical analysis on the current situation of high school geography teaching. And the author finds that in high school geography teaching there exist many problems. Teaching spends too much time; learning activity is less; teaching methods are obsolete; regional geography teaching is overburdened; knowledge structure is fragmentation; students are lacking in knowledge about regional geography; the relation between regional geography teaching and the new lesson is not strong; spiral upward trend and effective evaluation are not shown; evaluation tools are single,; teaching is lacking in reflective consciousness.Based on the analysis on the current status of the high school regional geography teaching, the thesis makes a number of recommendations to improve the regional geography classroom teaching: using Location Map, comprehensive summary regional characteristics, regional comparative regional differentiation according to the law, making use of typical cases to conduct subject inquiry teaching. Through the combination of geography of various teaching methods and comprehensive use regional geography aims to improve the students development, mobilize student motivation of learning, improve students’ ability to analyze regional characteristics and achieve meaningful learning, which is conducive to the regional high school geography teaching efficiency.In the area of research, the systematic study on regional geography teaching strategies is limited. The innovation of this paper is that based on high school geography teaching’s actual situation and one’s own experience in teaching the author puts forward the concrete operational regional geography teaching optimization strategy and tries to write optimized design case about area high school geography teaching strategy that is more targeted and effective. The content of the study further improves and enriches the research of regional geography teaching strategy of high school and puts forward the operational guidance about regional geography teaching studies for teachers.
