The European Cup, which represents the level of the most advanced technologyin the world today is held every four years. Each session of the European Cupnational balance of power competition is intense, full of strong passion, which alsoguides the direction of world soccer. From the tenth session of the European Cupheld in England in1996, only16teams can enter the finals. According to UEFA’sofficial announcement, the fifteenth session of the European Cup soccer match willbe held by France in2016, then the number will be expanded to24. Therefore, acomparative study on defensive technique application of the13th and14th EuropeanCup top eight teams has far-reaching significance, which attempts to explore thedevelopment trend of European national teams on defensive technique application.This article is mainly based on the methods of domestic conventionaltechnology statistics, combining some soccer experts’ opinion, thus making thecorresponding statistical standards. In the13th and14th European Cup top eightteams in the group and knockout,54games, a total of16teams as the research object.Methods of documentation, expert investigation, video observation method.
