The offensive and defensive on the football playground is a kind of contradiction, which are both united and opposite. The basic motivation of football development is the offensive and defensive contradiction in football. The offensive is the main means to defeat the competitor;however, the defensive is the foundation of winning a match. Hence, the level of offensive and defensive will have an impact on the result of a match. The defensive in football match has the characteristics of integrality and systematicity. In contemporary football matches, each team tries to achieve the final goal by two kinds of defensives, that is, partial defensive and unitary defensive. However, to accomplish such two kinds of defensives, the players need to do"stealing","headers","tackler", and"block off"repeatedly. The skill is the foundation of tactics. During the whole defensive system, the defensive skill is the basic part., which forms the fundamental part of the partial and unitary defensives, and is also the basis of the stable defensive system."Tackler"and"steal a ball"are two important skills in football match, which are with strong aggression. After the tackling and stealing, it will be easier for players to do successful offensive, especially in the first ground of a match, such way will threat the adversaries directly, even make a goal. In addition, if the players can make full use of the tackling and stealing, then it will add the mental pressure of the adversaries, as a result, it will limit the skill exertion of the adversaries. This paper will try to take the"2008 Final game of the European title match", which includes 16 teams and 31 matches, as an example. Moreover, the writer will try to study the characteristics and rules showed in the process of tackling and stealing by adopting lots of methodologies, such as literature method, video method, statistics method and mathematics statistics method, ect. The study result shows: the times of tackler are much frequent than it at the beginning of each match. And with the processing of the match, the times of tackler become more and more stable, even have the trend of declining. There is not too much difference in the first round of a match on the point of tackling, and the middle round is the part, which makes use of lots of tackling skills. When the match has last for 90 min, it will become more easier for players to do tackling successfully. And the last round is the part that can do tackler successfully. For an effective tackler, the ratio of tackling is higher than the ratio of tackling control and kick off. During this title match, most tackling skills is accomplished under such conditions, such as, the slow movement, with the standing posture, weak confront, and tackling from the front and side face. It also shows that the ratio of success is higher under such conditions. During the first and the middle round, it makes more use of the side-back tackler, but in the last round, the front tackler is used a lot. The times of stealing are more than the times of tackling, so is the times of foul. As a result, the ratio of success is higher than the tackler. In the process of stealing, the times of stealing receiver is more than the times of stealing passer, which is the main form of stealing. The ratio of stealing passer in the first round is higher, and the ratio of stealing receiver in the middle and the last round is also higher.
