Hongdong County has a long history, with profound culture, numerous heritageand celebrities. More than half of the ancient civilizations are concentrated here.Hongdong County is called vast fertile ground of our country. Hongdong is one of theimportant birthplaces of Chinese civilization, which owns Mount and Spring. Themasculinity of the mountain and the delicate soul of the spring created a unique kernelof the Hongdong culture also forged the Hongdong People’s unique temperament. Itcan be said that the soul of such natural rivers and mountains created the uniquehistorical trend of Hongdong County. In this fertile land, there is a kind of ancient andmysterious Boxing--Hongdong Tong Bei Quan, which is also known as pass backwrapped fist. With the trend of globalization and the accelerated process ofmodernization, and also because of changes in people’s living environment and livingconditions, China’s cultural heritage and its habitat is under serious threat and impact.Some cultural characteristics of traditional martial arts are disappearing. Manytraditional boxing heritages are facing crisis of passing on. Being endangered status ismore and more serious. As a local boxing, Hongdong Tong Bei Quan is not optimistic.After the excavation sorting, reporting and continuous efforts of the Association ofShanxi Hongdong Tong Bei, the back wrapped around the fist was selected in thethird batch of national intangible cultural heritage on June10,2011. With the help ofthe government, Shanxi Hongdong Tong Bei is protected effectively. But thesituation of Shanxi Hongdong Tong Bei is still grim. In order to further improve theendangered status of this outstanding national culture, the essay is in the search ofTong Bei Quan circulating area, Tong Bei Quan practitioners, enthusiasts, and theinheritors of Tong Bei Quan. The application of literature, questionnaire, fieldobservations, and interviews with experts is used to conduct research, and also carefulanalysis from the perspective of non-material cultural heritage. The results show thatthe development status of Shanxi Hongdong Tong Bei mainly exist the followingseveral aspects. Through research, this paper argues that in order to change theheritage Shanxi Hongdong Tong Bei, some measures should be taken from thefollowing aspects：Government’s attention and policy support is the cornerstone of theheritage development of Hongdong Tong Bei. The development of Hongdong TongBei must be relied on the government; Increase the mining of Hongdong Tong Beihistorical data, sort out the heritage clue of Hongdong Tong Bei, and perfect thetheoretical system of Hongdong Tong Bei; Perfect the institute of representatives ofthe inheritors, and build standardized institute; The number and scale of the institute should be expanded. Provincial standardized institute should be established. Coachteam should be trained, and we can held a special Challenge Cup; Abandon the sectsprejudice and strengthen exchanges; Play the role of the civil society organizations inheritage of Tong Bei Quan; Improve traditional teaching methods, organize experts towrite Hongdong Tong Bei textbook to lay a solid foundation for boxing into thecampus; Combining Hongdong regional culture and history resource advantage, openthe tourist attractions project of Tong Bei Quan; Increase the protection mechanism ofthe Hongdong Tong Bei inheritors, and develop the follow-up talent of HongdongTong Bei culture and artistry.
