As the final test for compulsory education, secondary school entrance examundertakes the mission of access and selection and plays a critical role in teachingexamination and guidance. In Shanghai, the modern reading comprehension ofChinese in the exam occupies one-third of the points, which is too heavy to beignored. Reading is very important in Chinese course, The new curriculum standardshighlighted in the “reading instruction for students,teachers,the process of dialoguebetween the text”,this opinion also has been show in entrance exam. Research onthe proposition characteristics and laws of the modern reading comprehension in theChinese exam brings opportunities for harmony between reading comprehensionteaching and the exam, guides and promotes the reading comprehension teachingand finally improves the efficiency of teaching. Especially in the context of more andmore attention being paid to teaching quality in basic education, with theproposition of secondary school entrance exam being made increasingly standardized,the exam guidance and contents are evolving while being stable at the same time.The significance of my study is to master the dynamic changes and the laws behind itin the exam, so that we could allow our students to calmly deal with the exam andshow better direction for our teaching. Simultaneously, writing is also constantlyenriching my theoretical training and accumulating my practical experience.Beginning with some research on the proposition reform of Chinese in the exam,the study focus on the requirements and evaluation characteristics of modernreading comprehension in junior middle school and achieves two goals throughsurveys on the characteristics of choosing topics and proposition in Shanghai’sexamination paper for the last decade. On the one hand, it elaborates itsenlightening and guiding influence for teaching so as to propose effective techniques,and on the other hand, by means of research on the short comings and pities of themodern reading comprehension objectively, it provides some advices with referencevalue for the proposition improvements of our secondary school entrance exam.This paper is divided into three parts,introduction,text and conclusion.Introduction:the preface discuses this paper’significances,writingsintentions and methods.text introduce the underground of secondary schoolentrance exam of shanghai,the traits of modern reading test and some apocalypsesand opinions.conclusion:this part mainly points out the place of the textual shortagesand indicates the diligent direction of the aftertimes.
