With a new basic education reform, the course of science in junior high school isrequired to implement. In order to ensure the smooth implementation of reform, thedepartment of higher education that assume the responsibility of foster the scienceteacher set up the specialty of science education. After the profession wasestablished, it is facing a series of professional construction problems, curriculumdesign as the key to the quality of the future science teacher is especially the focus ofresearchers. Therefore, no matter from teacher professional development or fromthe professional construction of science education, the optimization strategy of thespecialty of science education will brook no delay.The study,taking the development of teacher’s profession as a basis for settingoptimization strategy is mainly base on two points, firstly, a scientific curriculum is aguarantee for the development of teacher’s profession. Secondly, optimization is anatural demand for the development of teacher’s profession. The thesis not onlydefines the concept but also maintains that its structure should include professionalconsciousness, professional knowledge and professional competence, which providestheoretical foundation for the optimization strategy in the following conclusion. Thethesis also analyses from practice, which based on a questionnaire survey to the partof the student from the specialty of science education in shanghai normal universityand the current shanghai science teachers. The survey makes us know the presentsituation of science teacher professional development and the existing problem of the specialty of science education. The survey pointed out that formation of scienceteacher’s professional consciousness,professional knowledge and scientific researchability should be improved. The main problem of curriculum structure isoveremphasized theoretical teaching, neglect of practical experience and ignoranceof student and science teacher’s need. An overloaded curriculum of variety leads toinsufficient attention to practical course and also causes that the practical becomeformalistic. There are great difference in the course that now taught and the need ofstudent and science teacher. According to these problems, the author thoroughlyanalyses and put forward the principle of curriculum design optimization strategy ofspecialty of science education and module curriculum which includes generaleducation curriculum, science discipline curriculum, science education curriculumand education practical curriculum. The thesis rearranges the curriculum structureand adjusts the curriculum content. Finally the thesis raises the reform program ofcurriculum design of science education of Shanghai Normal University. To ensure thesmooth implementation of the optimization strategy, the thesis put forward somerelevant suggestions from three aspects of students, teachers and schools, such asestablishing the teacher education training center, setting up lectures on specialtopics and strengthening our tie with primary and middle schools.
