Since the foreign poem entered into the gentle language teaching material of middle school, the study on teaching foreign poem has been constant all the time。Many researches about the teaching of foreign poem are based on the foundation of the original work, and most belong to the category of foreign language Courses. Research in Chinese subjects against research of the foreign poem is actually few, many are based on the comparison of Chinese and English poetry, and most studies paid more attention to Chinese poetry. Certainly, there is the study on Chinese translation of the foreign language poem too, but all the content are basically analysis to the single page poem and quite a lot of discussions about the teaching methods of poem throughout the high school still remain at the theory stage. So ,in order to achieve the goal of understanding the text better, we should find out the practical point of view and operating methods of teaching from the teaching experience, but teaching practice in this area is very few. The foreign poem is an important window where we understood the foreign culture, we can help students to understand different cultures, to taste the beauty of different languages, to enhance student appreciation of poem, to develop thinking ability of students, to improve their aesthetic, cultural, and human cultivation of taste through the studying of foreign poem. Such irreplaceable effect, is worth our high school teachers starting a more in-depth study and research on teaching methods of foreign poem. And this thesis divides into two respects about this issue:The first part is a study to the status of poem teaching of high school foreign language. We analysis difficulties in the teaching of foreign poem by studying on textbooks, researching of professional qualities and the questionnaire analysis of students study status. It is clear that the status of foreign poem in textbook is very low through the analysis of the foreign poem. We can see that the high school students have a definite interest in learning from the questionnaire, but they lack the essential western modern works and guidance of the concrete method. Lack of professional standards of teachers will inevitablely affect the effective start of teaching.The second part is the concrete exploration to teaching method of the high school language foreign poem. According to the poetry teaching basic rule, and the student reading poetry cognition:read aloud- -create the boundary- -taste- -the multi-dimensional explanation- -creation, which carries on the concrete teaching method, and provides concrete instruction in every teaching method. While explaining these concrete teaching methods combining the foreign poem in the teaching material, we should have a preliminary attempt to the effect teaching method of high school foreign poem, and we also hope it can change the teaching ideas and learning way of students, and promote the development of classroom teaching of foreign poetry, stimulate students interest in foreign poetry.The last part illustrates the implementation of teaching methods should give full play to the enthusiasm of the students, change the concept of traditional teaching, and combined with their own teaching practice to discuss some of the gains of these methods from giving full play to the main body of students and teachers to start leading in the classroom teaching. Finally, against a new round of materials on the importance of the situation of foreign literature, the tomorrow of teaching foreign poetry is full of hope.
